وقال العابدي خلال تصريحات عبر برنامج “كورة كل يوم” المُذاع على قناة “الحياة”: “مباراة الدنمارك كانت في المتناول، حصلنا على نقطة إيجابية، لعبنا بروح قوية، المواجهة المقبلة أصعب”.

وأضاف: “تونس لعبت مباراة كبيرة وكانت قادرة على الفوز باللقاء، ولكن يوجد سعادة بعد التعادل أمام الدنمارك الذي يملك عناصر مميزة في أفضل الدوريات الأوروبية”.

وأتم: “منتخب تونس قادر على الصعود من هذه المجموعة وهذا الجيل لديه فرصة لصناعة التاريخ، ومباراة أستراليا هي مفتاح التأهل”.

ومن المقرر أن يلتقي منتخب تونس مع أستراليا في المباراة القادمة، المقرر لها يوم السبت المقبل الموافق 26 من شهر نوفمبر الجاري.

وتضم المجموعة الرابعة في كأس العالم، تونس والدنمارك وأستراليا وفرنسا.

Newcastle United moved 12 points clear of the bottom three in the Premier League with a dramatic win against Leicester on Sunday.

The tournament director of the 2011 World Cup, Ratnakar Shetty, has said that the development of the stadiums was on schedule and that the governments of the host countries – India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh – were working together to ensure an “incident free” competition.Several venues in India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka are being redeveloped or constructed from scratch and Shetty was confident they would be ready before the December 31 deadline.”We are monitoring the development of all the World Cup venues, particularly the re-development of stadiums. The events are properly chartered and time is of the essence for us,” Shetty said. “The World Cup has been previously held in the subcontinent in 1987 and 1996, and our aim is to deliver a World Cup remembered as a memorable event for spectators to enjoy and the teams that are participating to be at full strength.”In February, the ICC had written to the BCCI expressing concerns over facilities at Bangalore’s Chinnaswamy Stadium. Andy Atkinson, the ICC pitch consultant, reportedly suggested several changes that need to be undertaken ahead of the tournament. In June, the Premadasa Stadium in Colombo was deemed to be behind schedule by an ICC delegation in terms of readiness of the pitch, but progress at the two new venues in Pallekele and Hambantota was assessed to be on track.Shetty also said that the hosts were working towards improving the security for the event. “Each of the countries now has full-time security advisors and they are preparing the national security plans as well as the tournament security plans. According to The Chronicle, the Spaniard is unlikely to be fit enough to play against West Ham in the Premier League this weekend.

The report claims that he has suffered ligament damage in his ankle and is set to be absent on Saturday, following on from Kieran Trippier’s broken foot that will see him miss a number of weeks.

Newcastle will be fuming

Eddie Howe will surely be left fuming by this news as it means that he has lost his two first-choice right-backs in the same week.

Trippier’s knock was a gigantic blow for the Magpies as he has been sublime since making his move to the club from Atletico Madrid in January. Newcastle are unbeaten in his four Premier League appearances and he has averaged a WhoScored rating of 7.87. He has produced two goals and managed 24 tackles and interceptions in that time, showing that he has had a big impact at both ends of the pitch.

Therefore, Howe was already rocked by one major issue and now he has to deal with another setback because of Manquillo’s apparent unavailability. The Spanish defender has averaged a score of 6.61 in the top-flight, which places him seventh in the squad overall and shows that he is nowhere near the standard of the English international.

However, there is another drop-off between him and the player who could now be forced to play at right-back against the Hammers – Emil Krafth. The Sweden international has averaged a dismal WhoScored rating of 6.33 for the Magpies, proving that he has been nowhere near good enough for Steve Bruce or Howe.

He is ranked as the 24th player in the squad in terms of WhoScored ratings, which is 17 places lower than Manquillo. Whereas, Trippier is only six places above the ex-Liverpool full-back and this suggests that this injury update is a hammer blow for Howe as he could be left with little option but to select Krafth, who is far worse than his other two right-backs.

The dud’s performances this season suggest that he will be a liability against West Ham if he is in the starting XI on Saturday and this is what will leave Howe fuming ahead of the match. He will surely be hoping that Manquillo is able to return to training next week and be available for their clash with Brentford.

As the “home” board, the PCB is in charge of such matters, and the UDRS will be used for the upcoming Pakistan-England series.However, it is also not being implemented in the Sri Lanka-India Test series, which prompted the Sri Lanka captain Kumar Sangakkara to express his disappointment. Ponting has also become used to the UDRS and although the on-field umpires had a reasonably good match at Lord’s, he would have preferred consistency across series.”I got my point across at the referee’s meeting before the series. I think that even the ICC could have stepped in on this occasion,” Ponting said. “It’s a financial thing at the end of the day, that’s the reason we are not using it. I thought the ICC could have come in and done something about it. It hasn’t eventuated so we’ve just got to get on with it now.”You do get used to playing a certain way and having some decisions sent back for a referral. But that’s all we’ve got so we just have to get on with it and let the umpires do their job out in the middle. I think Pakistan just didn’t get around to getting it organised quick enough or something. That was the way it was explained to us at the referee’s meeting.”The cost of the UDRS is one of the major stumbling blocks, and there are also issues around the availability of the equipment. However, given that the system was rolled out properly after a lengthy trial process, Ponting believed the ICC should have stepped in to ensure it was used.”I don’t know the ins and outs of the whole thing and the way it’s being run,” Ponting said. “In a series like this one which is a neutral one there is always going to be that dispute about who’s paying for it and should we use it. It was brought in as compulsory in Test cricket 12 months ago now. I felt if it was ever left up in the air that someone should have stepped in and made sure that it actually happened.”Haroon Lorgat, the chief executive of the ICC, defended the current process. Speaking on Test Match Special last week, he said there were several issues that determined whether the UDRS was to be used in the Pakistan-Australia series.”I understood there were some technical difficulties in getting it up and running before the first Test got going,” Lorgat said. “The way we fashion the current scenario is for the home team in consultation with the visitors to determine if they want DRS or not. That’s part of the process that we’re walking to introduce it on a permanent basis.”
